Shattered Broken Trilogy Volume 2 JL Drake Books
Ok, let's start by saying I enjoyed this book. Definitely not as much as the first book, for a couple of reasons.First, it's way too short. The first book was an entire novel, this one wasn't even 200 pages. Yet still cost the typical price for a full novel. Secondly, Savannah was beyond annoying in this book. I didn't hate her character, but I was rolling my eyes and saying "really?" Several times. It seemed a bit juvenile to me.
So as much as I LOVED the first book, the second one was a bit flat for me. Would i still recommend it...yes! Because you couldn't have made me quit reading after book #1. But honestly, this ending didn't catch me and get me all knotted up like the last one. I think the author would have been better to just continue the story in this book and finish the series. I still loved the characters, annoying and all. But it was a typical 2nd book in a series for me...not as exciting and kind of repetitive. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't read it if you read the first book. Just don't except to be blown away again. At least for me. There were also several spelling mistakes and word mix ups.

Shattered Broken Trilogy Volume 2 JL Drake Books Reviews
Read on behalf of Two Darlin' Dolls and a Book Review.
"I don’t want to hurt anymore. I have so much pain. I don’t want to live without him. I don’t want to live without our baby.”
This book picks up right where we left off, shocked and on the edge of our seats. Dealing with all the pain and emotions with in this story brought me to tears. There were times when I wanted to pull Savi into a never ending hug and at other times I wanted to scream at her 'What are you thinking???'
So much happens in this book its fast paced and non stop action.
During his captivity Cole is given a lot of information that is hard to believe. There are so many lies uncovered.
Where do the lies end and the truth begin. When Savi tries to find the answers she desperately needs and a solution to their problems the unthinkable happens. Who can Savi trust? Will Cole get to her in time and if he does will they ever be the same?
"There’s a difference between living and surviving, and this was neither. My life was never going forward. It had always been on hold while I dealt with everyone else—my mother, my father, my keepers."
Savannah finds out that Cole is alive. They talk about what happened to him and he finds out that she lost their baby when she thought he was dead. She can't move on until she finds out who had her kidnapped. She can't believe that her father and best friend was the ones that had her kidnapped. Cole and Savannah are separated because she has to find out who and what she is now. She finds a job and an apartment in town. Cole believes she doesn't love him anymore and says some stuff that he doesn't really feel, but he feels hurt that she wants to leave him. She leaves in the middle of the night and Cole's mother explains why she had to go. Cole vows to bring her back. Great story. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.
BROKEN, SHATTERED, MENDED -- this trilogy need not have been so long nor need it have been a trilogy at all. By eliminating some of the repetitive sections, the book would have been a nice, long read that continued to rivet your attention and capture your imagination. The story was innovative and engaging, the characters well defined, but it had more explicit sexual content than was necessary to convey the bond, closeness and enfolding relationship between the main characters. Complicating such a tragic set of circumstances with too much steamy, hot sex dilutes the story explicit in the names of the books. In today's world of self-publishing, many writers seem to forego the rigid editing process that used to be undertaken by every publisher during the "processing" of a book from submission to publication. Many of today's books lack the professional editing that we are used to with hardcover and softcover books. I think this was a good effort, that could have been a great effort with professional editors to improve content.
Drake is known for ending a book making you NEED, not want, to know what is going to happen next. She picked up right where she left off with Cole and Savi in book 1 and left me needing to immediately pick up book 3. Her character development is well-planned and makes the reader feel a part of the book. You are rooting for Savi and Cole to fight their demons and find closure. You are left wanting to know more. Her supporting characters are perfect pieces of the suspenseful, humorous at times, romance puzzle!
Again what do I say, this is just as good as the first book. It continued right from where it left off with the first boo, and kicked some serious butt. All the characters are just the same and I still love them all.
“Mark hisses, wrapping his wound. “Why can’t people have cats? Really, all they do is sit there and plot your death…is that so bad?”
Cole is still tough and a fighter who would do anything to save and protect Savi. Of course there’s still a lot of shock and heart break, but I think we all saw most of it coming. I still feel really heartbroken for Savi.
You will forever be my knight who stormed the castle wall and saved me from all the evil that held me prisoner. I love you, Cole Logan.
I don’t know what I would do if I was her. Once again just like in the first book, this ending has me feeling a mess. I know everything has to turn out perfect in the end, and I’m sure I’m going to be on edge with the last book but, I still can’t wait to see how everything is going to turn out.
Just like with the first book, I give this another full stars review. Two down, one to go. Oh and again some tissues may be needed.
