This is a little known short novel in a unique style best described as surrealism meets occultism meets a style similar to a later Edgar Allen Poe and the novels of Aleister Crowley. It is a bizarre little book in which plots and images come and go at will sometimes becoming almost a dream within a dream. Ithell Colquhoun was a member of the Golden Dawn and sometime associate of Aleister Crowley. It has a Gothic aura around it and a style uniquely its own. Luckily for its sometimes difficult writing style it is a short but beautifully designed and produced book. I would recommend it to anyone with a taste for the occult with a particular female touch.

Perfect occult novel and one of my favorites that I've ever read. A great combination of surrealist art and occult literature and with every read I discover something new.
